Various sports # 4 – Ski paragliding

Strap on your harness, stretch your sail and fly to a white paradise! If the ski lifts have not yet reopened their poles, seats and cabins, there are a thousand and one other ways to enjoy the assets of the mountain. “Paragliding is the most accessible air sport of all air sports,” says Gill Schneider, paragliding instructor at Serre-Chevalier. Synonymous with mild air conditions, winter is the ideal season for such an activity. The mountains and forests, covered with a thick snowpack, thus offer the traveler a unique spectacle. After a precious briefing on the equipment, the basic rules and the air conditions, take your place in the harness, a real chair suspended in the air. Securely harnessed, put on your skis and slide down the track to reach the clouds. Up there, admire the scenery from a bird’s eye view during a superb 15-minute aerial slide.

Take control and fly to new horizons! In winter, the winds, their orientation and their power are stable or more easily predictable. This air trip is a great gliding flight in the valley with the possibility for the passenger to pilot the paraglider. In summer, a little take-off is enough to inflate the sail to let you carry in the air. The hot air currents along the ridges allow the paraglider to gain height and enjoy this exceptional adventure for longer. No age, weight or ski level limit… So you have no excuse. For the more courageous, loops and other acrobatics can be part of the game. An original and ideal winter sport for flying over snow-covered landscapes and observing panoramas from an extraordinary point of view. An unforgettable sensation!
