Valery Sabal continues his career with Romanian football legend Georges Haji

The contract with the 26-year-old footballer is for two and a half years.

In 2020, Šabala played for the Lithuanian club Marijampole “Sūduva”, in which he scored four goals in 13 games in League A, but participated in two matches in the European Cups and in one of them realized an important post-match shot.

Before that, Šabala was a member of the Polish club Legnica “Miedž”, scoring two goals in 16 games in the second league.

Since July 2014, when Šabala left the Riga “Skonto” club as a legionnaire, he has changed teams 16 times. True, much of his travel is related to the rental operations of a “Club Brugge” player and his return to a club of which he was not a member. The twists and turns of his career have also taken Shabal to Cyprus, the Czech Republic and Slovakia.

He has joined the ranks of the Latvian national team in Shabala Square in 53 games, in which he has conquered the opponent’s goal 12 times. He is the most productive of the currently active football players of the national team, but he has not played in the national team since 2019.

“Viitorul” took seventh place in the local championship last season, but this season is the eighth after 14 matches. In 2017, the unit won the Romanian Championship, and two years later – the National Cup.

The club was founded in 2009 by the legendary Romanian footballer Haji, so the team was nicknamed “Hajji boys”. Haji played in the Spanish clubs Real and Barcelona in Spain during his career, but scored 35 goals in 124 matches in the national team.
