Satou Sabally, who entered the WNBA in 2020 and had a successful season with Fenerbahçe Öznur Kablo, gave a detailed interview to FIBA’s website.
Speaking about the Women’s 3 × 3 basketball tournament that he participated in 2019 under the German uniform, Sabally enjoyed the organization.
Satou Sabally:
“I used to play football with men outside and then I played basketball with boys until the age of 14. I always had the mindset of attacking the circle. When I was living in Berlin, there weren’t many pitches outside, so I usually played in indoor halls. But I’ve never played 3 × 3 basketball before.
Satou Sabally, who was eliminated from France in the semi-finals in the first tournament with Germany and finished fourth in the tournament:
“I’m disappointed. In this game, you have to have a really aggressive throwing idea. I know this is my first tournament yet, but we have great potential as a German team. Even though we didn’t win a medal, it was fun. I love to play 3 × 3 basketball. This is a new experience. ”
Satou recently evaluated the structure of 3 × 3 basketball:
“I am a typical 3 × 3 basketball player. I play free on the court and I like to attack one-on-one. So I asked the German Federation if they would like me on the team. So we started to play. It can benefit women a lot in 3 × 3 basketball. It brings us closer to people. There are many great women playing in their own way. I love it.”
