RSC Anderlecht will say goodbye to quite a few players in the coming transfer period and one of them is Derrick Luckassen. The defender, who is hired from PSV, is superfluous at the club from Brussels.
After a good season at Anderlecht, the Amsterdammer was hired from PSV for a new season in July 2020. However, this new loan was not a great success. The Dutchman is barely mentioned by the people of Brussels and was not even included in the selection several times. According to The last hour Anderlecht does not rule out an early departure.
The Purple & White hopes that another club will take over Luckassen’s rental period. If not, the stopper will return. At Anderlecht, Matt Miazga and Hannes Delcroix now have plenty of opportunity as central defender and 23-year-old stopper Elias Cobbaut is also about to return after an injury, so Anderlecht no longer consider it necessary to keep Luckassen.
Luckassen started the season as a basic player, but disappeared from the first eleven after the lost match against Club Brugge (3-0). He came into action only once since (October 4), a raid against Royal Antwerp FC on November 1. He did not even get a place in the selection in the last six matches.
