NBA: Stephen Curry edged Reggie Miller for three points

Stephen Curry has passed his youth idol Reggie Miller for second place in successful downtown shots in his career.

The Golden State Warriors star rose to second in that category in the NBA records on Saturday in the game against the Utah Jazz.

This meeting was one-sided for the Jazz which won 127 to 108.

Before the game, there were four three-point shots missing to allow Curry to overtake Miller in the standings as the latter ended his career with a total of 2,560. It took Miller 1,389 games to get that amount, while the player of the Warriors is only in its 715th game.

Curry tied Miller in the second quarter and he made it clear by celebrating after the basket. He edged out his idol early in the third quarter with his fourth downtown pitch of the game.

Ray Allen ranks first in this regard with 2973.

Curry ended his night with five downtown throws and 24 points, but his efforts failed to stand up to the Jazz.

Utah led 77-47 after the first two quarters.

Donovan Mitchell stood out with 23 points, while Rudy Gobert made his presence felt under the basket with 11 points and 14 rebounds.

Nets regain KD and win

After losing twice to the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Brooklyn Nets were able to respond to the Miami Heat with a convincing 128-124 win.

For the occasion, the Nets could count on their star trio as Kevin Durant made a comeback. He also distinguished himself with a night of 31 points, while his teammate Kyrie Irving amassed 28 points.

James Harden may have been limited by his standards to 12 points, but he distributed the ball well with 11 assists.

For the Heat, Bam Adebayo was dominant with a total of 41 points. It was not enough at the end of the game for the Miami troops.
