NBA, Dwight Howard overtakes Olajuwon in the All-Time rebounds standings

Dwight Howard became the thirteenth best rebounder NBA ever. The big man of the Philadelphia 76ers has surpassed the legend of the Rockets Hakeem “The Dream” Olajuwon in this special ranking. During last night’s game against the Denver Nuggets, Howard collected 11 rebounds. This allowed him to reach a total of 13,749.

The next goal of Howard is the twelfth place occupied by Wes Unseld. The Washington Bullets legend is stuck at 13,769 rebounds. The 76ers player will be able to overtake Unseld in the coming weeks. Howard is currently averaging 6.8 rebounds per game in just 15 minutes. Despite currently serving as Joel Embiid’s backup role, his playing time could increase in the face of injury and quarantine issues faced by the 76ers.

Dwight Howard has always been considered an excellent rebounder. At the moment it is the active player with the most career rebounds, more than four thousand rebounds away from the second, who is DeAndre Jordan. With the Orlando Magic jersey he always held a double-double average at the end of the season, with a career high of 14.5 rebounds per game.

Even with the Lakers and Rockets jerseys he managed to keep the double-double average, despite a slight decline in statistics. After leaving the Magic, Howard suffered some physical problems that limited his potential, even in rebounds. The player has slowly lost his star status in the league. Howard returned to LA for the second time last year. “Superman” accepted a supporting role, putting aside his ego, and managed to win the first ring in his career.
