Basketball, NBA: Stephen Curry has reached another milestone in his NBA career. With 2562 distance throws, the 32-year-old overtook Reggie Miller in the “eternal” three-point leaderboard and moved up to second place. At 108: 127 of his Golden State Warriors at the Utah Jazz, the Guard scored five threes. “I tried to enjoy it in the middle of the game because I knew it could happen. I looked up to him when I was growing up,” said Curry. National player Dennis Schröder celebrated the ninth away win of the season with champions Los Angeles Lakers at the Chicago Bulls, the Lakers are still unbeaten abroad.

Anthony Davis was the guests’ best thrower at 101: 90 with 37 points, LeBron James scored a double-double with 17 points and eleven rebounds. Schröder scored nine points in just under 26 minutes. The Dallas Mavericks had to admit defeat to the Houston Rockets with 108: 133. National player Maxi Kleber was still missing from coach Rick Carlisle’s team due to the NBA’s corona health protocols. Because of this, four players are out in Dallas. “There may be two back in the coming week,” said Carlisle, without giving a name.

In the second downhill run on Hahnenkamm this weekend, Baumann was 0.97 seconds short of winner Beat Feuz from Switzerland, who after his success on Friday was unbeatable. Sander was only 0.03 seconds slower than his teammate. After 40 starters, Dominik Schwaiger (+1.62) was in 16th place, Josef Ferstl missed the top 30. Feuz won ahead of Frenchman Johan Clarey (+0.17) and Matthias Mayer from Austria (+0.38). A Super-G will follow in Tyrol on Monday.

Biathlon, Antholz: The German men’s biathlon relay missed the World Cup podium by 4.6 seconds at the World Cup dress rehearsal in Antholz, Italy. Erik Lesser, Roman Rees, Arnd Peiffer and Benedikt Doll came in fourth on Saturday after a total of six spare rounds – the winner France was 54.4 seconds short. The quartet of world champions needed nine spare rounds and prevailed in a sprint decision in 1: 14: 25.8 hours ahead of Norway (1 penalty loop / 9 spare rounds) and Russia (1/7) over the 4 x 7.5 kilometers.

Starting runner Lesser (1 spare) handed over to Rees in second place, just behind Norway. The Black Forest rider who joined the team for Philipp Horn also got through with a spare. With a gap of 13.1 seconds to the Russians running at the top, the 27-year-old then handed over to Peiffer. One day after his individual victory, sprint world champion Alexander Loginow had to go to the penalty loop after the standing attack – sprint Olympic champion Peiffer and Frenchman Simon Desthieux only needed one spare each and passed the Russian.

After the third substitution, the final runner Doll was 0.5 seconds behind Frenchman Émilien Jacquelin. Doll came to the first shooting together with the French as well as the Norwegians Johannes Thingens Bö and the Russian Eduard Latypow. After the last shooting, Bö and Jacquelin pulled away and fought for victory among themselves. Doll, who needed a total of three spare rounds, and Latypow fought for third place, the Russian then had the better end to himself.

Biathlon, Antholz: Franziska Preuss just missed a podium finish at the World Cup dress rehearsal in the mass start over 12.5 kilometers. The 26-year-old was unable to keep up with the French Julia Simon’s second win of the season (3 shooting errors) in the final meters and finished fourth, 9.0 seconds behind.

Preuss, who had disappointed in the individual on Thursday with 33rd place, gained self-confidence with fourth place for the World Championships in Pokljuka (February 10th to 21st). “It’s a bit of a shame that it was fourth place, but I still have to be satisfied,” said Preuss on ZDF.

Vanessa Hinz came to the last shooting in the leading group, but with four mistakes she fell back to 18th place and lost the norm (once in the top 8 or twice in the top 15) for the individual starts at the championships in Slovenia. Denise Herrmann experienced a fiasco, after four mistakes in the first standing stage and a total of six penalty loops, she landed in 26th place (+2: 36.8 minutes). Marion Deigentesch had sensationally qualified for the mass start as eleventh in the individual and was only a good 19th in her fifth World Cup race with a shooting error, Janina Hettich (3) took 21st place.

Soccer, 2nd Bundesliga: The promotion favorite Hamburger SV has secured the first round championship after a race to catch up. Coach Daniel Thioune’s team won at Eintracht Braunschweig 4: 2 (1: 2) after a 2-0 deficit and increased their lead over their closest rival VfL Bochum (who plays at SV Sandhausen on Sunday) to four points. Felix Kroos (10th) and Marcel Bär (42nd) had brought the hosts, who are still in the table cellar, in the lead. David Kinsombi (45th + 2 / 65th), top scorer Simon Terodde (51st) and Aaron Hunt (59th) were successful for HSV, which scored 19 of the possible 21 points from the last seven games.

Ski alpin, Kitzbühel: The weather has shaken up the program of the Alpine World Cup competitions in Kitzbühel a little. The classic Hahnenkamm descent on the Streif, which was canceled on Saturday morning due to rain, snowfall, fog and the piste conditions, is now to be rescheduled on Sunday (10:20 a.m.). The Super-G will be postponed to Monday (10.45 a.m.).

“Due to the current weather situation and the associated condition of the slopes, the jury decided to cancel today’s downhill race”, announced the International Ski Federation FIS and the organizers on Saturday morning. The Streif had already been affected by the high temperatures on Friday, and the rain made the conditions even worse.

“It rained up to the local mountain in the night and started to snow”, reported the German men’s head coach Christian Schwaiger. It was therefore difficult for the organizers “after yesterday’s warm day” to prepare the slope ready for a race. Schwaiger called it a “relatively sensible decision” to cancel the race.

Ski alpin, Crans-Montana: Kira Weidle suffered a damper on Saturday’s second descent in Crans-Montana. In the renewed victory of the Italian Sofia Goggia, the Starnberg woman only finished 16th, 1.56 seconds behind. Her strong performance on Friday when she was fifth was not confirmed by the only German starter in Switzerland this weekend. For Olympic champion Goggia it was the fourth success in the fifth downhill of this season. Second was the Swiss Lara Gut-Behrami (+0.27), third Goggia’s compatriot Elena Curtoni (+0.60). On Sunday there is another super G in Crans-Montana.
