Marlins eye Wilson Contreras

It is well known that the Miami Marlins managed to form a promising team for 2020 and that, of course, raises the commitment for the upcoming MLB contest. Therefore, the fish do not rule out adding more experience to their ranks.

The catcher is still an unknown for the Marlins of 2021, they could start with the Colombian Jorge Alfaro or Chad Wallach, and even Sandy León -with whom they signed a minor league counter-, but apparently neither option seems to convince them too much.

Contreras, who already has five years of experience in Las Mayores, has always stood out for his excellent defense behind the plate, so much so that he has already attended the All Star twice.

He himself has admitted that removing brokers in attempted robbery is like a hobby and boy does he do it well. But beyond that, he is also a smart hitter who could give Miami’s renewed lineup a bonus.

In shortened 2020, Contreras posted a modest .243 average, but of his 46 hits, 17 were extra-base hits, and he drove in 26 runs. If something is a fact, it is that he has a very timely bat and that always attracts.
