Bayreuth (AP) – The MHP Riesen Ludwigsburg have won the eighth win in a row in the basketball league and defended the championship lead.

Coach John Patrick’s team prevailed at medi Bayreuth with 89:70 (44:41) and thus secured their tenth win of the season in their eleventh game. The best thrower in the runner-up, in which Elias Harris played his last game, was Barry Brown Jr. with 19 points. Coach Patrick confirmed the departure of his winger at «Magentasport».
The Hamburg Towers also remain in good shape. The team of coach Pedro Calles had no problems in 92:74 (49:27) against bottom light Rasta Vechta and is on course to playoff with seven wins. It was a special game for Calles and construction player Max DiLeo: Both moved from Vechta to Hamburg in the summer.
Thanks to a strong final quarter (23:12) ratiopharm Ulm defeated Telekom Baskets Bonn with 73:72 (35:41) and was able to avert the fourth defeat in a row. The BG Göttingen won the basement duel against the Jobstairs Gießen 46ers with 92:90 (50:44) and celebrated another success after six bankruptcies in a row. Fraport Frankfurt was also victorious with 94:89 (43:40) at the Syntainics MBC Weißenfels.
