KOMPAS.com – Three consecutive tournaments in January 2021 in Thailand, namely the Yonex Thailand Open, Toyota Thailand Open, and the 2020 BWF World Tour Finals, have ended.

Indonesia only won one title in the three Super 1000 tournaments, namely through the women’s doubles sector, Greysia Polii / Apriyani Rahayu, at the Yonex Thailand Open 2021.

Meanwhile, other sectors ended in failure to achieve targets. The worst is of course the women’s singles sector.

However, Indonesia has new hope with the emergence of a surprise in the men’s doubles sector, namely the 19-year-old Leo Rolly Carnando / Daniel Marthin pair.

Leo / Daniel made a surprise at the Yonex Thailand Open 2021 tournament by stepping into the top four or semifinals.

However, their name will no longer surprise the next Thailand Open 2021 title.

In the future, Indonesia will participate in the Swiss Open 2021 event in early March.

The Indonesian Association of Tangis Fur (PBSI) has released a list of athletes who will be in action at the 2021 Swiss Open.

Of the names registered, there are no three mainstays of Indonesian men’s doubles, namely Marcus Fernaldi Gideon / Kevin Sanjaya Sukamujo, Mohammad Ahsan / Hendra Setiawan, and Fajar Alfian / Muhammad Rian Ardianto.

The three leading names from Indonesia will certainly not play in the 2021 Swiss Open.

Along with this, the Swiss Open 2021 in the super 300 category could become the stage for Leo Rolly Carnando / Daniel Marthin.

Yes, Leo / Daniel are included in the list of Indonesian badminton players who will play in the Swiss Open 2021.
