Jokic scores 27 points as Nuggets beat Thunder

Nikola Jokic had 27 points and 12 rebounds before going to rest on Tuesday in the game the Denver Nuggets won 119-101 against the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Clean shaven and with a new haircut, Jokic dished out six assists before going to sit on the bench with the rest of the starters in the fourth quarter.

Argentine Nuggets point guard Facundo Campazzo made the standout play in the first half, throwing the ball from behind and between the legs to Morris, who hit a layup.

Backup Monte Morris added 15 points and Paul Millsap finished with 13 points and 12 boards. The Nuggets had six home wins against the Thunder.

The victory represented a confidence boost for the Nuggets (7-7), who have struggled after advancing to the Western Conference finals last season in the NBA bubble. The game was looming so big that Denver coach George Karl posted on social media before it started: It’s early in the season to say this, but the Nuggets’ game against the Thunder is ˜the Nuggets have to win ™ ” .

The Thunder played the first time since Friday, when they beat Chicago in overtime. Sunday’s game against Philadelphia was postponed because the 76ers did not have the eight players required by the league to proceed with the game, due to the tracing of contacts with people infected with coronavirus.
