Conor McGregor’s surprising KO against Dustin Poirier, the first in the Irish fighter’s career, is one of the news of the day, in the media and also on the networks, where many fans have taken the opportunity to stoke the illustrious defeated. The Irish fighter, who in the previous one had boasted that he would knock out his rival in less time even than he had in his previous and only confrontation, received the first KO of his career in just two and a half minutes, which has made him the center of thousands of ridicule and acid criticism.

Among them those of Khabib Nurmagomedov, executioner of McGregor’s brilliant and once unstoppable career in Mixed Martial Arts. The fighter from Dagestan, now retired for a promise to his mother, looked at the UFC evening 257 (Ultimate Fighting Championship) with a lot of attention, as many saw it as a fight for his lightweight title, won before announcing his retirement, and even the Irishman had already warned that he would challenge the reigning champion if he won.

And it didn’t take long for Nurmagomedov to react after McGregor’s shocking defeat. The Russian fighter wrote a harsh message in the social network Twitter in which he criticized his approach to the fight against the American Poirier: «This is what happens when you change teams, you leave the sparring team that made you champion and spar little kids, far from reality”.

A criticism that was accompanied by a compliment to Dana White, head of the UFC, for the way he guided the organization to make it more popular and important: “You can like it or you can hate it, but you have to respect it. This kid builds this sport. Thanks for everything Dana White. I have a lot of respect for you.
