Getafe breathes and exacerbates the crisis in Elche

He Getafe ended his losing streak of results by winning by 1-3, in a direct duel for permanence, to a Elche still in free fall after a game in which the Madrid team knew how to react to the early goal of the Elche team and take advantage of the expulsion of the local Marcone at the beginning of the second part.

The set of José Bordalás, in which Aleñá and Kubo debuted, moves away from the decline and sinks a little more to the bottom of the table Jorge Almirón’s group, which has already linked eleven consecutive days without winning.

The meeting between the needy could not have started better for Elche, which after three minutes of play he managed to get ahead on the scoreboard thanks to a goal from Raúl Guti after a precise cross from Barragán.

The goal enraged Getafe, who assumed absolute control of the game. José Bordalás’s team went to look for Elche in their own area with strong pressure and began to generate arrivals and chances, especially from set pieces.

Elche, which recovered the defensive scheme of three centrals, did not have the capacity to associate in attack and their only offensive options were limited to strategic actions.

After a phase of rough play, peppered with a thong and several cards, Getafe finally reached its goal through Cucurella, who headed in an unappealable way to the net a center from a band.

The team from Elche, who had lost their scorer Boyé due to injury at a quarter of an hour, woke up and had his clearest chance in the boots of Pere Milla, but the Catalan, almost with an empty door, found the response of Rubén Yáñez, who saved in a spectacular way a sung goal.

The match was uphill for Elche at the beginning of the second period, when Marcone, after five minutes, was expelled after being sanctioned with the second yellow and Fidel, one of his fittest attackers, left the field after a muscle injury.

The game became a monologue for Getafe, who had the opportunity to score with a shot from Mata that Edgar Badía saved.

Bordalás did debut Take Kubo to energize the attack and it was not long in being decisive. Mata took advantage of a rebound by Edgar Badía from the Japanese to score the second goal of Getafe at pleasure.

Elche, outnumbered and without offensive arguments, had no response capacity against Getafe. The Madrid team still had the option to increase their income, already in the last moments, with a new goal, scored by Ángel from a penalty.

In full visiting festival, Mata had two clear scoring chances to have increased the difference against a sunken Elche, broken and demoralized by its bad dynamics.
