On Friday, AC Milan announced the arrival of Fikayo Tomori (23) from Chelsea. The current Serie A leader even managed to negotiate a € 28million call option with the Blues. But the departure of the England international did not necessarily please all supporters of the London club. Asked about the departure of the British central defender, Frank Lampard tried to justify this decision.

“Because I have five center-backs and I can’t do this job and please all the fans, that’s football. Which players you should choose or not, depending on whether you are looking for consistency or competing in a race without being beaten, there are questions to be asked. I have to pick two center-backs at a time, and the numbers don’t always add up. Fikayo is a developing player, a very good player. He’s going to be a very good player, ” commented the Chelsea manager on Sky Sports.
