Four springboards tour: Kubacki wins in Garmisch and revives – Fil Info

Pole Dawid Kubacki, winner of the Four Hills Ski Jumping Tour in 2020, won the second of the four competitions on the program for the 2021 edition, notably beating the Garmisch-Partenkirchen springboard record on Friday. Only 15th in the first competition in Oberstdorf on Tuesday, Kubacki stunned the competition with a second jump to 144m, a new springboard record (143.5m for the previous record). He finished with a total of 282.1 points the Norwegian Halvor Egner Granerud and another Pole, his compatriot Piotr Zyla. Poland, which had been excluded from the first competition after a positive case of Covid-19 within the team, before being reinstated, placed three representatives in the top 4. The German Karl Geiger, winner of the first competition Tuesday, placed 5th after a bad first jump. He gave up first place in the provisional classification of the Tour to the Norwegian Granerud, before the third competition on Sunday in Innsbruck (Austria).
