Underclear Distance Strike

Underclear is also clear

Clear can be defined as giving our team time by clearing the opponent’s court. Among them, underclear is a technique that hits the shuttlecock from below the net and sends it high and long. For this, the shuttlecock needs a launch angle that can draw a high flight trajectory and a flying distance that can fly away. The launch angle can be made from the head angle when the shuttlecock fits the racket head, and the flying distance can be made through the space created in the opposite direction of flight of the shuttlecock. Because the underclear is hit from the bottom of the net, the racket head faces upward. In other words, the trajectory can be secured. Then, the most important thing for a high and long underclear is the flying distance.

Underclear distance hit #1 correct hitting

It is very important that the racket head moves together with the feeling of aiming the shuttlecock toward the dropping point of the shuttlecock. If the racket is lowered, it is not correct because it is necessary to predict the movement of the racket head after looking at the shuttlecock.

It is also important to reduce arm swing. Most people who feel underclearing is difficult start swinging with their arms pulled back to get them farther away. In this case, time and space become scarce due to the falling shuttlecock. Starting with the racquet head extended forward and underswing after backswing using only the wrist or elbow, the head movement will be reduced, so it is also helpful to make an accurate hit.

Underclear Distance Strike #2 Create Space

In order to apply force to the shuttlecock, a space must be created behind the RBI, in the opposite direction from which the shuttlecock will fly. If you swing with your arms, you have enough space, but it is difficult to accurately hit, so you need a way to reduce the backswing and create an efficient space. Hand the racket head like the Nike logo

The swing that gently moves forward by raising the neck and turning it down increases the distance the head moves and reduces the overall swing trajectory, thus creating space and enabling accurate hitting.

Underclear Distance Strike #3 Reduce Follow Swing

The important thing in underclearing is to focus on the moment the shuttlecock is hit (impact). To do this, reducing the follow swing may be the way to go. There are times when a lot of people put more effort into the follow swing. Rather than this movement, all the power should be poured out and natural at the moment of impact. It means that there shouldn’t be any action that uses force after the RBI. The follow swing follows the shuttlecock and should not be a swing that lifts up unconditionally. With the feeling that 90% of the entire swing is only up to the RBI, you swing and put more power before RBI to bounce the shuttlecock.
