Daniela Macías and Brian Roque are the National Badminton champions

Daniela Macías and Brian Roque, from the Vamos con Tokio Program and the Athlete Support Program (PAD), from the Instituto Peruano del Deporte (IPD), took first place in their different categories in the National Badminton Championship held in the High Performance Center (CAR) of la Videna.

Macías prevailed in his adult category ladies 1st. Division, the second place corresponded to Inés Castillo, while third were Erika Volosova and Namie Miyashira.

Macías, who is on the right track to qualify for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, also won the gold medal in doubles, pairing with Camila Duany and beating Cristina Aicardi-Inés Castillo in the final.

In the adult category 1st. Division, Brian Roque took the gold followed by Imanhol Navarro and Sebastián Blondet with Sharun Duran.

In parabádminton, the national champions in their different categories were Pilar Jáuregui, Pedro Pablo de Vinatea, Giuliana Poveda, Jeny Ventocilla and Nilton Quispe.

In this way, the Peruvian Badminton Sports Federation (FDPB), which receives significant support from the IPD, closed the 2020 calendar year in the best way, where they were able to perform high-level competitions, despite the Covid 19 pandemic.

In total, 117 badminton players were present at the National Championship.
