Joined in 2018, the collaboration between Indonesian stars, Egy Maulana Vikri, and Lechia Gdansk, seems to be coming to an end. The reason is, Egy’s contract will expire in 6 months at the end of the season, and until now there are no signs of an extension.
High hopes were indeed put on Egy’s shoulders as he arrived at Ekstraklasa Poland. However, his appearance with the club nicknamed Bialo Zieloni was nothing special.
Entering his third season, Egy Maulana Vikri is still having trouble breaking into the first team. In total he has only recorded 9 appearances for the Lechia Gdansk first team, with the most occurring this season, which is 5 times.
So far, Egy has indeed appeared more often to defend the Lechia Gdansk II team. He is even fairly productive, scoring 15 goals in only 21 appearances. However, that performance was not enough to earn him a regular place in the main squad.
However, recently the star of the Indonesian national team has won an award. Based on the Polish media poll, Trojmiasto.pl, he was selected as the best player in Lechia Gdansk in category two, with less than 8 appearances for the first half of the 2020/2021 season.
