Sandy Erasmo Patrone (San Pedro de Macorís, 12 July 1983) is a Dominican baseball player with Italian citizenship.

Career

Club

He made his debut in the A1 series in 2001, just a few days after his eighteenth birthday, with the Caserta shirt. The following year he falls in the category, playing in A2 in Riccione, and then moves definitively to Rimini, the team with which he will win the 2006 championship, proving to be one of the best pitchers of the entire Italian Baseball League (IBL).

In June 2014, a period in which he could not take the field because he was treating a muscle strain, he was banned for two years following a doping control carried out in Brno during the 2014 European Cup.

National

He made his first appearance in the Italy national baseball jersey at the 2003 Olympic Qualification tournament in the Netherlands. He subsequently played three World Championships (2003, 2007, 2009) and two European Championships (2005 and 2007).

At the end of the 2012 season, he has 25 appearances in the Italian national team.
