The qualification for the first Grand Slam tournament of the season, which starts on February 8th, three weeks later than planned, will take place with the women in Dubai (January 10th to 13th). The men play at the same time in Doha for the remaining places in the main field of Melbourne.
The tournaments in Auckland, New Zealand, and Shenzhen / China are canceled due to the corona pandemic.
From January 15, the professionals should enter Melbourne and complete the mandatory 14-day quarantine. The WTA will provide information about the tournament calendar after the Australian Open later.
