After returning from the NHL in 2019, this summer, after one season in Dynamo, extended his contract with the Moscow team for another two years. This is despite the fact that more overseas units from the NHL were interested in his services.

However, a native of Om, representing the Czech Republic, made a great name for himself in the KHL, and in the last season he was even voted the most useful player in the entire competition. This was also reflected in the new contract with Dynamo. In the current year, he will receive a basic salary of 95 million rubles (roughly 27.3 million crowns), which makes him the second highest paid KHL hockey player.

In the contract, Yashkin has a clause that in case of adequate interest from overseas, he can leave Dynamo after the 2020/21 season. However, if he decides to stay in the Russian capital, he will earn even 20 million rubles more next year, ie 115 million (33 million crowns).

Even so, he would remain in second place in the ranking of the rich. On the first is his club teammate from Dynamo Moscow striker Vadim Šipačov. The 33-year-old Russian world champion and Olympic champion from Pyongyang has a current contract for 120 million rubles (roughly 34.5 million crowns).

The divided third place belongs to the goalkeeper of Ekaterinburg Jakub Kovář and the Finnish striker Ufa Teem Hartikainen, who have contracts for 90 million rubles (25.9 million crowns).
