United States President Donald Trump will not watch NFL games if players drop one knee to the ground during the national anthem.
As he has been doing for several weeks already, the American president has continued to feed his disgust towards the players who kneel in protest against the racist incidents which plague the country.
Several players and coaches around the circuit have announced plans to drop one knee to the ground when the NFL returns. This is notably the case of JJ Watt, Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murray and Adrian Peterson, in addition to instructors Kliff Kinsgbury and Bill O’Brien.
Trump also expressed his displeasure at the comments of Dr Anthony Fauci, the director of the US National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases, who doubts the NFL’s plan to return to action. The latter said Thursday that the “bubble” strategy – as with Major League Soccer or the NBA – seemed the wisest.
“Tony Fauci has nothing to do with NFL football,” the president wrote on his Twitter account on Friday. They plan a safe and controlled opening. On the other hand, if they do not stand up for our national anthem and our great American flag, I will not look! ”.
