Timberwolves Guard Malik Beasley pleads guilty after being charged with violence

Malik Beasley has pleaded guilty to a crime after being arrested in September following a threat of violence. This was confirmed by attorney for the Minnesota Timberwolves Guard, Steven Haney, on Monday ESPN.

Accordingly, the 24-year-old is threatened with imprisonment or house arrest for up to 120 days. However, he will only have to serve this sentence after the 2020/21 season. Failure to commit a criminal offense during the probation period will downgrade the charge to minor offense.

“This solution will allow Malik to complete the full 2020/21 season and work on becoming the player and person he can be,” said Haney. The September incident became loud ESPN called police to Beasley’s estate after Beasley allegedly threatened people in a car with gun out.

“As the victims drove away, the suspect was seen putting the gun on his shoulder and aiming at the vehicle,” a police report said at the time. When the police arrived, the officers heard a strong smell of marijuana. However, one drug abuse charge was dropped.

Beasley was traded by the Denver Nuggets to the Minnesota Timberwolves ahead of the 2020 Trade Deadline. In 14 games for the Wolves, the Guard put on 20.7 points on average. In the offseason, the 24-year-old received a new, lucrative four-year contract worth $ 60 million from the Timberwolves.
