Istanbul assistant coach Basaksehir Pierre Webo also spoke up after the case of racially abusing him. Webo is grateful for the support.

The name of the referee from Romania, Sebastian Coltescu, is being discussed because of his racist statements when he acted as the fourth official in the Champions League match between Paris Saint-Germain and Istanbuil Basaksehir, Wednesday (9/12/2020) early morning WIB yesterday.

As a result of Coltescu’s actions, the match was stopped in the 15th minute and was resumed the day after. At that time, Coltescu was claimed to have said the words ‘Negri’ or black skin in Indonesian to Pierre Webo.

Webo, who was furious, then got a red card and made the match heated up. Even the Istanbul player Demba Ba went to the point of confronting Coltescu head-on.

UEFA then plans to conduct an investigation into this ‘racist referee’ allegation. Meanwhile, Webo received a lot of support from the public, especially football players.

This massive support made Webo calmer and at the same time grateful to many parties. Webo even received a greeting

“As a pro UEFA referee, I think he (Coltescu) has gone too far and violated existing values,” Webo said as Sky Sports.

“I want to thank all those who support me at this time, December 8th. I want to say ‘Thank you Mr. President (Club President Goksel Gumusdag),” he continued.

“They always support each of me and especially the support of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, a great man who supported me from the start in a difficult moment like this,” concluded Pierre Webo.
