Despite his demotion to backup pivot, Carson Wentz still has the confidence of his Philadelphia Eagles head coach Doug Pederson.
The latter will look to Jalen Hurts to lead his attack during Sunday’s game against the New Orleans Saints. The rookie took over from Wentz, nailed to the bench during the meeting against the Green Bay Packers. However, will Hurts’ presence be fleeting? Nothing is to be excluded.
“I think Carson Wentz can be an exceptional quarterback in this league. He proved it, the head instructor told The Athletic on Wednesday. He just needs to get back on track, to be Carson Wentz. That’s my goal with him. ”
Except strangely, Pederson’s advice to Hurts is the same. It will therefore be on the ground and nowhere else that it will be played out.
“This week he has to show up and obviously take control,” said the driver. And lead the boat in his own way. That’s my message to him: to be Jalen Hurts and do the things he’s capable of. ”
In eastern Pennsylvania, the 2020 season is not a very pleasant one, with the Eagles sitting third in the National Association’s weak Eastern Section with a 3-8-1 record. Wentz leads the NFL with 15 interceptions this year. On Sunday he was limited to 79 yards by air, while Hurts had 109.
