Teenager Barinka, Hadamczik’s grandson, will play in Germany

Hockey striker Marcel Barinka will be active in the highest German competition in the Cologne jersey. Nineteen-year-old grandson of former Czech national team coach Alois Hadamczik has played for Halifax in the junior QMJHL for the past two seasons. Barinka has been training with the Haie team in recent weeks and now, according to the club’s official website, his engagement has been confirmed.

Last season, Barinka scored 17 points in seven matches for seven goals and 10 assists in the Mooseheads jersey. In QMJHL, he has a total of 35 points (14 + 21) in the account from 108 matches of the basic part. He did not score in two duels in the playoffs.

The offspring of Opava worked in Sparta, Prague, from the age of 13 and went to the hockey academy in Salzburg for the 2017/18 season. The participant in the World Eighteen Championships from 2019 is the son of former football player Martin Čížek and his stepfather became hockey defender Michal Barinka.

He will be led in Cologne by coach Uwe Krupp, who was Sparta’s coach from 2018 to January this year. Germany’s top competition will not start due to the coronavirus pandemic until 17 December.
