Son Heung-min Wins Puskas Award, Mourinho Is Not Surprised

London

Son Heung-min won the Puskas Award 2020 or the title of best goalscorer in the world this year. The manager, Jose Mourinho, is not surprised!

The Puskas Award is one of the most prestigious categories in FIFA’s annual event entitled The Best FIFA Football Awards. That category is pinned to the best goalscorer.

In 2020, Tottenham Hotspur player Son Heung-min won it. The South Korean player was named the best goalscorer, through his action against Burnley last season

Precisely at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, in the Premier League match on December 7, 2019. Son Heung-min dribbled from the Spurs defense area to the opponent’s penalty box, before hitting the ball against Burnley.

Son Heung-min can run fast and escape the encirclement of eight Burnley players. Then, Son was flawlessly able to beat Nick Pope and threw the ball into the Burnley goal.

Son Heung-min was awarded the Puskas Award 2020. He beat Luis Suarez (Barcelona / Atletico Madrid) and Giorgian De Arrascaeta (Flamengo).

With this success, Son Heung-min followed in the footsteps of Cristiano Ronaldo, Neymar, James Rodriguez, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Mohamed Salah, who also won the Puskas Award.

Tottenham Hotspur manager, Jose Mourinho, did not seem surprised by this. Apparently, he already knew that Sonny (as the player was called) would get the Puskas Award.

“Go home and watch FIFA TV, Sonny Puskas Award for best goal, of course Sonny,” said Mourinho in the video he posted via Instagram.
