Should Jalen Hurts be the 2020 Eagles starter? Could Travis Kelce be attacking player of the year? Judges Week 14 NFL Overreactions

Jalen Hurts was clearly not an overreaction.

If anything, you could say Eagles trainer Doug Pederson underreacted to Carson Wentz’s seasonal bouts by waiting until week 14 to replace him as the starter with the rookie in the second round of Hurts. But start it, he finally made it on Sunday and it paid off with one of the most unlikely wins of the 2020 NFL season.

The Saints rolled after nine wins in Philadelphia after winning three straight times when Taysom Hill came on for an injured Drew Brees at the start of the quarterback. They shoved the NFC South in their back pocket for the fourth year in a row and set their sights on the NFC’s top playoff seeds.

The Eagles suffered four losses, with big questions about their high-priced franchise quarterback and the future of their Super Bowl winner.

Of course the Eagles built up a 17-0 lead and won 24-21. Both hurts and Miles Sanders ran more than 100 yards against a team that hadn’t allowed a single 100-yard rusher in their last 55 games. Therefore, to shape a sentence, they play the games.

What better place to start the Week 14 Overreaction column than with the excitement neither of us saw coming?

Jalen hurts Has to be the starter of the Eagles for the remainder of the season
