PSG Handball: Thierry Omeyer becomes general manager

It was an open secret but it is now official. The day after the 3rd place taken in the final four of the Champions League, PSG handball announced this Wednesday evening that Thierry Omeyer, 44, will be the next general manager of the club. He succeeds in this function another former international goalkeeper, Bruno Martini, who will leave the club on January 15. A logical decision as Omeyer was unanimous in the ranks of Paris.

Arrived in the capital in 2014, “Titi” had completed his trophy cabinet with 5 new French league titles, two French Cups, three League Cups and two Champions Trophies. He retired from sports in 2019. A world reference in the field, he also holds a university diploma in general manager from the CDES in Limoges.

The assumption of office of one of the most beautiful achievements in French sport (59 trophies), which has held the position of sports coordinator of the handball section since June 2019, “will be effective from January”, indicates the press release.

Also according to this press release, he will rely in particular on Daniel Narcisse, another legend of French handball. With such a duo at the head of the club, PSG hope to retain their title of champion of France, which they have monopolized since 2014 and win the European title which still eludes them.
