NFL – Game between Philadelphia Eagles and Seattle Seahawks

The Monday night game between the Eagles and the Seahawks will be shown at 8 p.m. on RDS and on RDS Direct.

PRE-MATCH

Carson Wentz did not finish the game the last time he faced the Seattle Seahawks with a concussion.

His troubles have only added up since.

So much so that Philadelphia Eagles head coach (3-6-1) Doug Pederson hesitated when asked who of Wentz or rookie Jalen Hurts will be the starting quarterback against the Seattle Seahawks (7-3 ) Monday evening.

“He’s my starter, end of story,” Pederson eventually told reporters.

Wentz led the Eagles to four wins to claim the National East Division title last December. Wentz went on to make his playoff debut after seeing Nick Foles lead the team to the Super Bowl in 2017 and a playoff victory in 2018.

Wentz was brilliant on the stretch of the 2019 season, completing 67.6% of his passes and amassing 1,199 yards and 7 TDs against no interceptions in four games. However, he only played nine games in the playoffs before Jadeveon Clowney knocked him out. by tackling him to the head. The Seahawks then won 17-9.

Wentz has not been the same since. He leads the NFL with 18 turnovers, including 14 interceptions. His percentage of passes completed (58.4) and his passer efficiency rate (73.3) have never been lower in his career.

In Wentz’s defense, it must be said that injuries have notably forced the Eagles to use 12 players on the offensive line, including 10 starters, since the start of the campaign. Tight ends Zach Ertz and Dallas Goedert, as well as running back Miles Sanders and receivers DeSean Jackson and Alshon Jeffery have also been sidelined with injuries.

Beam of hope for Wentz: He will face the NFL’s worst pass defense tonight. Seattle has allowed 343.7 passing yards per game on average this season.

The Seahawks can count on running back Chris Carson, center Ethan Pocic and cornerback Shaquill Griffin.

Carson (foot) and Griffin (thigh) have missed the Seahawks’ last four games, while Pocic (concussion) has missed his last two games.

Right tackle Brandon Shell is the only regular Seahawks starter who will miss the meeting.
