Woods starts the US Open with an exemption

Tiger Woods (48) can compete at the US Open in Pinehurst in June with an exemption. The US Golf Association announced this on Thursday. In contrast to the Masters and the PGA Championship, there is no right to start at the US Open for former winners of the major tournament, which is why the three-time winner Woods (2000, 2002 and 2008), as the current number 789 in the world, is dependent on an exemption. It is Woods’ 23rd Open participation.
