The best deal of 2020 is Bruno Fernandes (26 years old, 15 games and 10 Premier League goals this season) transferred from Sporting Portugal to Manchester United for € 55m (excluding € 25m bonus) in the final days of the winter transfer window. Since then, the attacking midfielder has been the league’s most decisive player, with 18 goals and 14 assists in 2,408 minutes played.
Enough to exceed the untenable Mohamed Salah (28), decisive “only” 27 times (20 goals and 7 assists) with Liverpool since February 1. “Bruno is better than me”, recently explained Mancunian legend Paul Scholes (see here), and the numbers currently prove him right as Fernandes is – so far – the only player in Manchester United history to score or have scored at least once per game.
