Latvian champions FC “Riga” for the last three seasons plan to invest 25 million euros in football infrastructure

Investments are planned by “Riga” in cooperation with SIA “Baltic Sport Group”.

The planned investment is more than 25 million euros, not including the construction of a four-star hotel complex.

The development of the main project in Pinki – “Baltic Sports Village” has already started, which the club and the contractor consider to be the most ambitious project in the field of football infrastructure in the Baltics.

Over the next two years, it is planned to build a training and rehabilitation center with a total area of 5,000 square meters and a full-size arena with a synthetic cover that can be used all year round. The arena is designed for 1,000 spectators, but the stadium will have 5,000 seats. The sports hotel will have 80 rooms.

This football base is intended as a national football center of the latest generation, as well as a competition base for major international football academies.

In 2020, abandoned football fields, “Ķeizarmeža” football base have already been renovated, as well as the development of Mežaparks sports village in Mežaparks – “Mežaparks Sports Village” has started.

Modern changing rooms, lounge areas, a renovated swimming pool, a cinema for relaxation, a billiard room, rooms for playing squash, a room for playing Brazilian football “Teqball” and table tennis and a modern gym have been created.

A menu was created especially for athletes, as well as a center for the preparation and use of sports and healthy food. In general, the conditions in the football club are now assessed as European top clubs, reports “Riga”.

For “Riga” trainings, the natural football field in the area of 105×68 meters was completely modernized.

A world-class manufacturer – the company “Rain Bird” has been chosen for high-quality sports lawn irrigation. The system consists of 24 field sprinklers, a controller with remote control from anywhere in the world and the heart of the irrigation system – the Grundfos pumping station with a capacity of 60 cubic meters per hour.

In order for the players to start training as soon as possible, it was decided not to sow the grass in favor of the roller lawn.

The next step in the creation of football infrastructure was the renovation of two fields with natural cover for the needs of the club academy. Within two calendar months, full-size areas with an area of 105×68 meters and one natural area with an area of 50×25 meters were created.

For the third season in a row, “Riga” footballers were crowned champions in the Premier League championship, while RFS and “Valmiera” won silver and bronze, respectively. The last, tenth, place in the Premier League championship was taken by the newcomer “Tukums 2000” / TSS. “Liepāja” won the Latvian Cup this season.
