KOMPAS.com – Indonesia’s U22 national team coach, Shin Tae-yong, has summoned 36 players in preparation for the 2021 SEA Games.
18 of the 36 players called Shin Tae-yong are over 21 years of age or above from the U22 category.
If referring to the 2019 SEA Games rules, the men’s football team that is eligible to perform consists of U22 players and two senior players.
The presence of 18 players or half who are in the category above the U22 indicates that there are preparations for the Senior National Team.

However, the Acting Secretary General of PSSI, Yunus Nusi said that the summons were for the Indonesian U22 national team and were prepared ahead of the 2021 SEA Games.
“The lead one later coach Shin Tae-yong and there are several additional senior players, “said Yunus Nusi when contacted BolaSport, Saturday (19/12/2020).
“This is still the name of the Indonesian U-22 National Team TC, it’s just that there are some senior players,” he added.
Arema FC, Bhayangkara FC and PSM Makassar contributed the most players with four players each.

In addition, players who play abroad are also called such as Egy Maulana (Lechia Gdansk), Todd Rivaldo Ferre (Lampang FC), and Ryuji Utomo (Penang FA).
The last name is likely not going to follow the TC which will take place in Jakarta from Sunday (20/12/2020) to 31 December.
The reason is, Ryuji Utomo is undergoing a quarantine period in Malaysia to join his new club, Penang FA.
Meanwhile, Shin Tae-yong also explained that the summoning of the senior players was because of his wish.

“We have also summoned several senior players,” coach Shin Tae-yong was quoted as saying on the official PSSI website.
