Prague’s Sparta reports reinforcement in defense. Twenty-eight-year-old beater Adam Polášek, who did not extend his contract in Vítkovice, is heading to the currently fourth team of the extra-league table. “But we are breaking up quite correctly and in a good way. For myself and for the club, I thank Adam for his help with starting the season and I wish him good luck in his future work, whether it will be abroad or in the Czech Republic, “said the sports director of the North Moravian club Roman Šimíček for hcvitkovice.cz

Vítkovice wanted to extend the monthly contract with Polášek, but he decided to return to Sparta. “When I left Sparta, I told the fans that I believed we would see each other again,” he told hcsparta.cz. “I feel at home in Sparta, I like the local environment, I have been living in Prague for a long time and I am looking forward to the Spartan cabin, from which I did not leave very easily last season,” he added.

Sparta had a long-term interest in the 28-year-old defender, but he waited for foreign engagement to continue. “That’s why we brought David Němeček, who turned out to be a great reinforcement. Adam’s foreign engagement did not work out, so he nodded at Vítkovice’s monthly offer, “says Jaroslav Hlinka, the club’s sports manager, for hcsparta.cz. “Due to the injuries that bothered us in the defense, and further improvement of the defense, after the end of his temporary work in Vítkovice, we agreed on an engagement until the end of the season,” he added.

The tough defender, who has two dozen national team starts to his credit, has more than 160 starts in the extra league. He played in the Continental Hockey League in colors, Novosibirsk and Sochi, and most recently the Finnish top competition for Tappara. After returning to the O2 Arena, a new coaching duo, Miroslav Hořava and Josef Jandač, awaits him, under whom Polášek also worked in the jersey of the national team.

“I have known Mr. Jandač for a long time, I played under him in Sparta and in the national team,” he told hcsparta.cz. “I know how well he can lead a team and train. I haven’t played under Mr. Hořava yet, but everyone in the cabin told me the same thing – just positive things. I’ve heard how eager he can work with players not only in training and in wrestling. I’m really looking forward to playing under it, I believe that he can advise me in the game and I can improve even better under it, “he adds.
