‘Footballer Royston Drenthe declared bankrupt’ | Football

Drenthe, who now plays at Kozak Boys, did not want to discuss the matter with the regional broadcaster. The curator of Drenthe also refused to respond.

Drenthe, now 33 years old, went through the youth academy of Feyenoord and made his debut in the Rotterdam main force in 2005. He was one of the stars of the Dutch Juniors that became European champion in their own country in 2007. It earned him a transfer to Real Madrid, where he was under contract for five years.

In the ‘Koninklijke’, the midfielder played 46 league matches. Drenthe was rented out twice: to the Spanish Hércules Alicante and to Everton. This was followed by a wander through clubs from Russia, England, Turkey and finally the United Arab Emirates. Then he picked up his football career again at Sparta Rotterdam. In May last year, his contract was not renewed there. Drenthe still plays for Kozak Boys from Werkendam.

The one-time international also tried to work as a rapper under his stage name Roya2Faces.
