Eidukai’s second victory in the Slavic Cup in Zakopane

On the second day in Zakopane, in the Slavic Cup, the participants competed twice as long, covering 10 km, and in the opposite ski style – on a skating rink. The same eight countries were represented: Latvia, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Romania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria and Croatia.

Since on Saturday the representative of Koknese region won the 5km distance in the not-so-convenient classic style, no one doubted that she would be the fastest in the 10km freestyle.

The Latvian, who had achieved a historic success in Davos a week ago and won 8th place in this distance, as expected, did not leave any hope to the other competitors for the second day in a row. Our skier showed the time 26: 09.1 and was the only one who ran 10km in less than 27 minutes, the closest competitors, ahead of this year’s 20th place winner of the Youth Olympic Games Karolina Kalet from Poland by a minute.

The trio of the winners was also identical on the second day, as Elīza Rucka (+1: 07), who entered the twenty-fifth place of the World Junior Championship, was in the third place.

With the points scored in Zakopane, Eiduka will stabilize in the top 100 in the world ranking in the next FIS list, which will come out right for Christmas. She currently ranks 88th with a 53 FIS points rating.

Tomorrow, Patricia will go home with her earned two Slavic Cups to take a break from the heavy workloads this month and prepare for the “Tour de ski”, which will start on January 1, 2021.
