Despite Moukoko’s goal record – BVB loses at Union Berlin

For a long time, little happened at the Alte Försterei, then events rolled over. Because Dortmund slept twice in the corner of Berlin, the first Bundesliga goal by super talent Moukoko was worthless for BVB.

Borussia Dortmund loses for the first time in the second game under the new coach Edin Terzic. In the away game at Union Berlin it is a 1: 2 defeat. And that despite the fact that super talent Youssufa Moukoko scored his first goal in the Bundesliga.

BVB made unnecessary mistakes in the structure and sometimes played too awkwardly. The almost 70 percent possession in the first half was too seldom used by Dortmund in dangerous scenes in front of the Berliner Tor. In one of the few finishes, Moukoko was also unlucky, his shot only hit the post (45th).

Terzic had warned against the courageous and stable Berliners, who held against it with great effort even after the break. Cedric Teuchert tested Bürki (54th), before Taiwo Awoniyi took a corner from standard specialist Christopher Trimmel to give the hosts the lead (57th).

It only lasted three minutes. The 16-year-old Moukoko scored 1: 1 for BVB with a powerful left-footed shot from an acute angle (60th).

Moukoko became the youngest Bundesliga scorer in history at the age of 16 years and 28 days.

Dortmund sleeps in standard situations

In a way, this closes the circle for the striker. In Berlin he celebrated his Bundesliga premiere as the youngest player on November 21 against Hertha BSC. And again Berlin is the scene for his first goal in league one.

The fact that it was not enough for something that could be counted was due to the repeated Dortmund sleepiness in a corner of the Unioners. In the 78th minute, Teuchert brought the ball from the right into the middle, where Friedrich was able to head completely free to win.

This means that Borussia’s upswing has stopped under the new coach.

A disappointed BVB goalkeeper Roman Bürki said in an interview with ZDF: “I think we play very inefficiently. We don’t reward ourselves enough.”

Regarding the goals conceded, he said: “It’s something that has to do with self-discipline.”

With the defeat, BVB loses contact with the top flight of the league. Tomorrow the gap to first place could already be nine points. Bürki: “At the moment we have other problems than the table.”
