Juventus prevailed once again in the Derby della Mole after beating Torino 2-1 for the tenth round of Serie A at the Allianz Stadium in Turin. Juan Guillermo Cuadrado was the starter and the triumph of those led by Andrea Pirlo was key after assisting in the two goals of his team.
Few ideas for Juve
Juventus wanted to put conditions from the first minute. Those led by Andrea Pirlo dominated possession of the ball, but did not have the necessary depth to generate danger. The game plan changed, when the visitors scored the first goal of the engagement on a still ball.
At minute 9, Torino opened the scoring through Nicolas N’Koulou. Cristian Ansaldi took a left corner kick that Rodrigo Bentancur tried to reject. The ball fell to the feet of the Cameroonian defender, who although he finished uncomfortably managed to beat goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny.
Juve tried to find a draw but had few ideas in attack, while the visitors had another option of danger in a heads-up by Simone Zaza with the goalkeeper. It was difficult for the locals to generate an association game in the opposite field, despite pressing the exit of their rivals.
Square, key to victory
For the second half things changed little. Juventus continued to handle the ball and the game was played closer and closer to the goal guarded by Salvatore SiriguBut the Vecchia Signora was not deep enough.
Juan Guillermo Cuadrado was one of the figures of the commitment. The player scored a goal after a shot from outside the area, however, the central judge decided to annul it after reviewing the VAR out of place of a teammate who influenced the play.
With 12 minutes remaining in the engagement came the tying goal. The Colombian side sent a cross from the right, after a short corner. The ball was connected by Weston McKennie who with an accurate header to the ground beat Salvatore Sirigu and matched the engagement.
In the last minute of play, Juventus secured the victory. Juan Guillermo Cuadrado returned to send a center from the right, but this time it was Leonardo Bonucci who connected the ball and with his header gave the victory to the local team in the Derby della Mole.
Juve fights for the lead
With this result, Juventus climbed to the second box of the standings with 20 points, after five games won and five tied. The black and white are three points behind Milan, which is the leader without having played their game. Torino, for its part, is in the relegation zone (18) with only six units.
On the next day, Andrea Pirlo’s men will visit Genoa. Before, they will play with Barcelona for the last date of the group stage of the Champions League.
