Crazy first all-time for Jayson Tatum

Still left to achieve a big season with the Celtics, Jayson Tatum seized a record never seen for his first two games in the league. The streak could even go on if the refs don’t give it a hand.

Among the contenders in the East, we find again Boston in the lot. The franchise lost Gordon Hayward in the offseason and must begin its campaign without Kemba Walker, but Brad Stevens’ men are convinced they can do something. The mission promises to be complicated, especially if we take the last game against Brooklyn.

During this match, the Nets easily won after the Kevin Durant show : 123-95. Obviously, it is too early to learn any lessons, but Jayson Tatum and his teammates know that the road is very long.

The winger will be expected at the turn, he who planted 20 points during this match, at 9/22. Not terrible, even if he had insured for the first meeting with 30 points on the clock. But in these two meetings resides a peculiarity: no throw. And when you see the number of shots, it’s downright historic.

Jayson Tatum this season: 50 shots attempted / 0 free throws attempted. He is the first player in NBA history to kick off his season with multiple games over 20 shots without a single pitch.

We have never seen such a player attempt so many shots, without getting at least a single throw. Lack of aggressiveness? Passivity of arbitrators? Maybe a mixture of the two in the end. What is certain is that the young player remains a pro when it comes to planting from afar. This might explain that.

Still no shot for Jayson Tatum despite some big shooting attempts. We imagine that that should quickly change in the next meetings.
