CME Group Tour Championship (LPGA): The French grappill

Played in milder weather conditions than Thursday and Friday, the third round of the American circuit final caused a nice show this Saturday in Florida, and more cards under par. Overtaken by her compatriot and world No. 1 Jin Young Ko at the end of the second round, Sei Young Kim regained the advantage by slamming a 67 (-5), two strokes better than its rival. The recent winner of the KPMG Women’s PGA Championship is therefore returned to the lead, and at -13 total she leads suddenly in front of Ko and three over the Englishwoman Georgia Hall. With 18 holes to go to the end of the season, the bubbly Kim is on track to retain her title in this CME Group Tour Championship, but also to win the distinctions of Player of the year and Winner of the money list and, if Ko finished tenth at best, to steal the seat of world No. 1 …

The French women are simply concerned with a place of honor in this grand final of the LPGA Tour, and after 54 holes Perrine Delacour is still in a good position to do so. The Picardy played 68 (-4) this Saturday, with an eagle and three birdies against a single bogey. This solid part in all the compartments of the game allows it to grab three ranks in the standings: here it is now 13th at -7, just one stroke from the top 10 and two from the toop 5 … Celine Boutier surrendered a 70 (-2) card with three birdies and a bogey, and earned a place on the leaderboard, 19th at -4.
