Club Brugge meets Dinamo Kiev, Antwerp plays against Rangers in Europa League | Europa League

The Belgian clubs know their opponent in the 1 / 16th finals of the Europa League. Club Brugge play against Dinamo Kiev from Ukraine and Antwerp has to go to Scotland, to the Rangers. The first leg is scheduled for February 18, with returns a week later.

Club Brugge did not have to wait too long for its draw. It came out of the cup on the second attempt and was linked as seed to Dinamo Kiev. The team from Ukraine is no stranger to the national champion. Last year, Club eliminated the team in the preliminary rounds of the Champions League.

This season, Dinamo Kiev took revenge on the Belgian teams by eliminating AA Gent in the play-off round for the Champions League. The Champions League campaign turned out to be a disappointment for coach Mircea Lucescu’s men. In a group with Juventus and Barcelona Dinamo finished 3rd, but only managed to score four points. They were all met in the two confrontations with the Hungarian Ferencvaros.

Antwerp came out of the hat a little later. Leko’s team will compete against Rangers from Glasgow. The Rangers made an impression in the group stage of the Europa League. They played in Standard’s group.

They won 0-2 on Sclessin on the opening matchday and set the tone for the rest of the campaign. On the penultimate match day, Standard also lost in Scotland, after a creditable match 3-2. The Scots eventually won group D 14/18.
