The three-part boxing world champion Claressa Shields has now officially signed with the Professional Fighters League. The ‘GWOAT’ is set so that the change from boxing to MMA takes place. News was posted on Twitter when the PFL announced the superstar boxer had signed with them. Since then, Shields has spoken about why she took up the challenge.

Peter Murray, CEO of PFL, shed light on ‘T-Rex’ MMA debut and pledged to continue defending her boxing belts. He said, “Claressa will continue to box professionally as she begins her multi-year PFL MMA career. Fans will see their professional MMA debut in 2021, airing in the US on ESPN and in 160 countries around the world. “
Shields, who had previously expressed his dismay at not fighting, explained why she had switched to PFL.
She said, “You’re giving a woman the chance to fight for a million dollars. That really caught my attention. And also, how is it only fair, the women are allowed to do the same as the men and they are paid the same and they fight the same. Everything is the same ”.
Shields assured fans, however, that she would continue to box. She said, “I am not retiring from boxing. I’m really adding another career to my life so I’ll keep boxing. “
‘T-Rex’ also addressed her long-term goals in sport, saying: “My long-term goal is to be a hundred and fifty-five pound MMA champion. That is my overall goal. “

What is the Professional Fighters League? Can Claressa Shields Conquer It?
The PFL is a seasonally-based MMA league in which fighters compete for the ultimate prize in a regular season and play-off championship system. The season usually starts in April. This gives Shields plenty of time to learn the various aspects of MMA.
The ‘GWOAT’ herself is confident of becoming the champion and keeping her belts in boxing. Her goal is to make history and become the first woman to hold a boxing belt and MMA title at the same time. It will be very interesting to see how Claressa Shields does this.
