Christian Rubin has gone to the NHL team’s Maple Leafs camp

It has already been reported that Ruby has been leased to the Danish club Frederikshavn “White Hawks” until the start of the NHL training camp.

This week, the team reports that Ruby, who has already gone to Toronto on Tuesday, has left the ranks.

Rubin played 21 games in Denmark’s strongest championship this season, with two goals and three assists.

In early April, Ruby signed a two-year entry-level contract with the NHL team “Maple Leafs” in Toronto. For the past two seasons, he has spent the Maple Leafs at the Marlies Farm Club in Toronto, playing in the American Hockey League (AHL).

Most likely, Ruby will have to start the season in North America in the AHL championship, but it is scheduled to start almost a month later – on February 5 – than in the NHL (January 13).

In the 2019/2020 season, Ruby went on the field in 47 games, in which he scored two goals, made 12 assists and accumulated a positive efficiency of +1. Last season, he made his debut in the AHL, where he scored in 15 matches with three assists and a negative utility of -2.

Rubin spent most of the 2018/2019 season in the ECHL or former East Coast Hockey League, where he represented Newfoundland’s Growlers. He scored two goals in 56 duels in the regular championship, made 16 assists and scored a positive efficiency of +17, but the “play-off” Latvian scored 1 + 2 in 17 fights, as well as a positive efficiency of +5, helping the team to triumph in the Kelly Cup.

The ruby entered the Maple Leafs system in August 2018 when it signed an ECHL contract with the Growlers team. Less than three months later, he signed his first AHL contract, but last July the agreement was extended.

At the junior level, Ruby played in the Western Hockey League (WHL) team in the Tennessee of Medisinhet, where in two seasons a total of 126 games scored 11 goals, yielding 51 assists, earning a positive performance of +35.

Prior to that, Rubin played for three seasons in Sweden, where he played for the youth teams of the club “Vasteras”, as well as in the main unit.

Ruby represented the Latvian national team in the 2018 World Championship, scoring a goal against Canada. He has also played in Latvian youth teams.

Of the Latvian hockey players, Sergejs Senins, Vyacheslav Fandul, Oreg Sorokin and Roberts Jekimov have also played “White Hawks”.

It has already been reported that Rūdolfs Balcers has already gone to the Ottawa “Senators” camp, who spent the beginning of this season on the basis of a lease agreement in the team of the strongest Norwegian championship “Oilers” in Stavenger.
