The 2021 Tokyo Paralympics will be staged from Tuesday 24 August to Sunday 5 September. Immediately after the Olympics, scheduled from 23 July to 8 August, there will be space for the five-circle Games reserved for athletes with disabilities. The event was originally scheduled for this year, but has been postponed to next summer due to the health emergency that has swept the world and revolutionized the international calendars of all sports. It promises to be an extremely spectacular and exciting event, with 22 disciplines ready to award their medals in multiple categories.

This is the sixteenth edition of the Paralympics. For the first time, badminton and taekwondo will be introduced, while the velta and 7-a-side football will be removed. Italy will present itself with great ambitions, especially in athletics, swimming, fencing where our standard bearers could do well. Other disciplines include bowls, 5-a-side football, rowing, cycling (unfortunately we will not see Alex Zanardi), horse riding, goalball, hockey, judo, volleyball, paracanoa, paratriathlon, wheelchair basketball, weight lifting, wheelchair rugby taekwondo, tennis, table tennis, shooting, archery. It will start with the Opening Ceremony at the Tokyo Olympic Stadium.

Tokyo (capital of Japan) will host the Paralympics, 16 days after the conclusion of the Olympics.
