Bagus Kahfi’s ‘Drama’ Before Joining FC Utrecht

Jakarta

Bagus Kahfi missed another trial offer in Norway. This happened before he was recruited by the Dutch club, FC Utrecht.

This is known from the comments of Ole Martin EK, who represents X-One Agency, the player’s agency from Norway. At that time, Ole Martin replied to Dennis Wise’s comments when Bagus Kahfi expressed his disappointment because he had almost failed to join FC Utrecht.

At that time, Ole Martin questioned Dennis Wise’s capacity in transferring Bagus Kahfi to FC Utrecht. According to him, Dennis Wise, who is the Football Director of Garuda Select, cannot act as a player agent.

Dennis Wise is not an agent because he is suspected of not having the certificate to undertake the job. While Dennis Wise often acts as a mediator for Garuda Select players to European clubs.

Meanwhile, when X-One Agency was interested, Bagus Kahfi and Garuda Select even missed the offer. Even though they feel they have the right to offer that opportunity.

Incidentally Bagus is not the first Indonesian player to attract the attention of X-One Agency. Hambali Tolib, who is now strengthening Persebaya Surabaya, has brought them to trial in Croatia.

Talents from Indonesia are also not the only ones that X-One Agency has monitored. Ikhsan Fandi from Singapore, who is currently working in Norway, is also a player from this agency.

The talents of Asian players do have a special place because this agency has members with Indian descent. That’s why Bagus’s talent did not go unnoticed.

“Starting next year we will cooperate with Indonesian agencies which have ties to Bagus, Bagas Kaffa, and several other potential young Indonesian players,” said Ole Martin to detikSport.

“The Norwegian League is good for Indonesian players because it can be a stepping stone for them. Indonesian players are known to have speed, technicality and are easy to watch because they like to play attacking,” he said.

“The problem is they will be physically constrained and have to adapt to the situation in European football. That is why the Norwegian League or other Scandinavian competitions is suitable for Indonesian players if they want to be successful in bigger competitions,” he said.
