Anfield Liverpool headquarters, like the Second Home for West Brom

Liverpool

West Bromwich Albion successfully brought home a point against Liverpool. Anfield is indeed again the second home for The Baggies.

West Brom is predicted to be a goal barn for Liverpool on Boxing Day, Sunday (27/12/2020) evening WIB. Because, West Brom are still struggling in the red zone and have won just once this season.

Meanwhile, Liverpool are the top standings as well as the defending champions, which last week slaughtered the hosts Crystal Palace 7-0. Moreover, Juergen Klopp as the manager has a good record when facing the promotion team.

Liverpool looked like they were going to be a goal feast when Sadio Mane scored in the 12th minute. But, after that, Liverpool seemed to have struggled to dismantle the West Brom defense and many times their attempts to score goals failed.

Even only two shots on target were released by Liverpool and West Brom was even more dangerous, three shots on target, one of which was an equalizer in the 82nd minute! Alisson Becker was unable to reach Sami Ajayi’s header.

Liverpool had to settle for a 1-1 draw and failed to widen the distance with Everton in second place. Liverpool’s failure to beat West Brom is actually not very surprising, if you look at recent statistics.

Quoted Opta, West Brom is unbeaten in the last three trips to Anfield in all competitions! Yes, before this West Brom managed to draw Liverpool 0-0 on 13 December 2017 and won 3-2 in the fourth round of the FA Cup on 27 January 2018.

West Brom have been the team that has held the longest record without losing at Anfield recently. Maybe Liverpool as the host is too kind to West Bromwich Albion. In the next match, Liverpool will face Newcastle United in the year-end match at St James’ Park, Thursday (31/12/2020) in the morning WIB. The match was broadcast live on Mola TV starting at 03.00 WIB.
