Thursday December 10

New England Patriots @ Los Angeles Rams (-5.5, 45.5)

The Patriots have found a way to compete: with the genius of Bill Belichick as their main weapon. The defense has improved substantially, from 344 YPP allowed in the year, to 318 in the last three, making it the 12th best in that time. The thing is that the line is practically at its point, so it is a candidate for a teaser. The Rams are also a great defense, and they are two teams that base their offenses on the running game, so casualties are the attractive side here. Forecast:Rams 19 , Patriots 13 – BAJAS.

Sunday, December 13

Tennessee Titans @ Jacksonville Jaguars (+7.5, 53)

I don’t like these lines where they “hide” the .5 and people keep paying it, but they give me a line of more than one touchdown in a divisional game, the Titans favorites on the road, and the Titans are 0-3 ATS in that situation. The Jaguars have been competitive in recent games. They lost by less than four points four of the last 5 games. The Titans defense is only # 16 in DVOA, and the Jaguars is very bad, in fact the worst in YPP allowed, but at home they improve by almost 20 yards. Forecast:Jaguars 24 , Titans 30 – ALTAS
