Wendell Sailor, Rugby Australia, Angus Crichton, Sydney Roosters

Former wallaby Wendell Sailor has urged Rugby Australia to pursue the signature of Angus Crichton, the Sydney Roosters rear rower.

A rugby union prodigy in his youth, Crichton represented the Australian Schoolboys team before being picked up by the South Sydney Rabbitohs.

The 24-year-old was named on the New South Wales Blues roster for the State of Origin series kick-off on Wednesday night in the Adelaide Oval.

While the Roosters attempt to poach child prodigy Joseph Suaalii, the powerhouse club may have to clear space in its wage cap for the 2022 NRL Premiership.

The cashed club started clearing the decks after leaving the semi-finals. Halfback Kyle Flanagan and striker Poasa Fa’amausili go to the Bulldogs and Dragons respectively.

With a three-year deal remaining with the Roosters, Crichton could also find himself in the firing line, despite winning one of his best seasons with Bondi this year.

Sailor asked RA to take the opportunity to convince Crichton to revert to the 15 player code.

“You know what I love about Angus Crichton. It’s not just what you see in the field, he’s doing a lot of great things in the indigenous community, ”said Sailor Triple M..

“He’s amazing and comes from a really nice family.

“The ARU should try to get him back into rugby union.

“He’s a really good player and a handsome young man … the cocks, what are you doing? Stop chasing Suaalii! “

Since making his NRL debut in 2016, Crichton became a Premier Player for the Sydney Roosters in 2019 and made his first appearance in his country of origin in 2018.
