EOne of the side effects of the corona pandemic is that it sometimes makes the interpretation of human emotions impossible. Hidden behind the mouth and nose protection, which has long been omnipresent, it is often difficult to properly classify the emotions of the other person. Anger, sadness, joy – human facial expressions disappear behind the mask of expressionlessness. It was also the case with Alexander Zverev when he was supposed to give a short address at the tennis tournament in Paris on the Sunday before last.
In this respect, Zverev did the interested spectators a favor after the narrowly lost final against Daniil Medvedev. At least verbally, he gave a brief glimpse into his soul. “I know that a lot of people are trying to wipe the smile off my face,” he said: “But under this mask, I’m still smiling.
